COMMUTING OVER THAT BRIDGE!

Yes we all know about the  General Sullivan Bridge, between Dover and Newington - long lines, vehicle accidents, commuting hour traffic snags, winter storms. Did you know this has a big impact on job attrition for employers in this area? Almost once a week we see applicants come in complaining they don't make daycare deadlines or the spend an uncomfortable extra hour in traffic each day because of "The Bridge". Remember this factor when recruiting your next hire. Be sure they are comfortable with what impact that will have on their travel time. Some employers are now offering a flex schedule and making it known that bridge tie ups are "excused tardies" to allow employees to have some comfort knowing the unavoidable traffic won't have a negative impact on their relationship with the employer. This is certainly a small cost free offering for positive employee relations.
