OPERATIONS MANAGER - DIRECT HIRE

The Role
Northern New England based sales, service and supplier of municipal emergency response and personal protection equipment.  Due to a high growth trajectory in a short period of time, this small group of professionals looks forward to adding an ambassador to their organization that will offer organizational leadership, cross functional supervision and process improvement.  

Objectives
Reporting to the company principals, the Operations Manager will lead and assist in all aspects of the business and provide pivotal support to all divisions of the company.  The individual will be responsible for all of the operational moving parts of the company, including developing, managing, and mentoring the company toward growth oriented goals and revenue objectives.  The successful individual will institute effective strategies to assure company initiatives in the areas of productivity, quality, customer service, sales, human capital, cost and profitability and safety are met and maintained.

Responsibilities
  • Implementing and maintaining organizational processes with a focus on efficiency and compliance.
  • Identifying improvement objectives in the company and creating and implementing solutions.
  • Training new team members for onboarding, staff development, leadership, mentoring and execution of systems.
  • Organizing, planning, and executing projects while working within budgetary restraints and schedules.
  • Providing accurate forecasts, updates and requested reports to Partner/Owners.
  • Building Employer Brand and improving Human Resources systems to include direction for culture, recruiting, employee benefits and compensation, event planning, employee relations and state and federal compliance.
  • Establishing operational strategies, transitioning new advances, mentoring and nurtures team members assuring ongoing process improvement, profitability, cost control.
  • Managing sensitive matters with a high level of confidentiality and discretion especially decisions directly impacting the operations of a company.
  • Preparing, reviewing, and summarizing agendas, reports, special projects, and other documents in support of objectives for the Partner/Owners and organization.
  • Researching and assisting in the implementation of new IT systems, including software updates and hardware upgrades.
  • Collaborating with IT support teams or vendors to address complex technical issues when necessary.
  • Cross functionally supporting regional sales team on issue resolution and customer relations for materials, shipping, service and new product training.
  • Developing and maintains a comprehensive plan to respond to various emergencies such as cyber outages and security, building facility issues and pandemics to include remote work capabilities.
  • Providing a high level of attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to meet established deadlines.

  • At least 10 years’ experience in corporate or private small business leadership
  • Proven results in successful Human Resources Management functions
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written

  • A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace
  • Proven people skills with effective experience in training, managing, mentoring and evaluating direct reports as assigned.
  • Operational knowledge of ERP systems
  • General computer skills
